Hi I'm Jo,
One thing you need to know about me is that I’ve seen both sides of this journey. As an expert, a Highly Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist in the NHS and in private practice, I’ve worked closely with parents to champion their children to thrive. I have also spent many years working closely with teaching professionals, particularly within my role as Director of an Early Years setting, so I know the barriers you face on a day to day basis when trying to access support for those children you desperately want to provide the best care for.
But there’s more to my story than that. I’m also a Mum to two boys, one of whom is Autistic ADHD with Sensory Processing Disorder. So I know how it feels to juggle the day-to-day, to deal with schools and nurseries, and not feel seen by the system. I knew what I needed to do but even doubted myself as a parent at one moment.
That’s when I knew something had to change.
That’s when I knew I needed to do more.
I want to bridge the gap between families and their access to both private and LA resources. As frontline workers, teachers are often the professionals who are left to triage children, source the resources that will benefit them most, and provide the evidence that will get them the support they need to thrive. This is a really difficult task when you’re working with a broken system that reinforces the belief
that more isn’t possible.
So let’s re-write the SEN story together!
